1. Background
The organisation is a local non-governmental organisation implementing a national advocacy campaign focused on maternal health, reduction of unsafe abortion, and public awareness of the Termination of Pregnancy (TOP) Act.
Despite abortion being legal in Zimbabwe under specific circumstances, misinformation, stigma, and fear continue to drive unsafe abortion practices, leading to preventable maternal morbidity and mortality.
As part of a broader communications strategy, the organisation seeks to engage nano-influencers to support rights-based, stigma-reducing digital advocacy through authentic storytelling and factual content on social media platforms.
2. Purpose of the Assignment
The purpose of this assignment is to identify, contract, and work with suitable nano-influencers who can:
• Disseminate accurate information on maternal health and the legal framework governing abortion in Zimbabwe
• Contribute to destigmatising abortion through relatable, culturally sensitive storytelling
• Reach young women and communities most affected by misinformation and silence
3. Scope of Work
Selected influencers will be expected to:
1. Participate in a mandatory training session on:
• Maternal health and unsafe abortion
• The Termination of Pregnancy Act
• Ethical, rights-based SRHR communication
2. Develop and publish original content, including:
• Short-form videos (30–60 seconds)
• Personal or narrative-style posts aligned with campaign messaging
• Myth-busting or educational content
3. Publish content consistently on agreed platforms (TikTok, Instagram, Facebook) according to a shared content calendar.
4. Engage audiences responsibly, including:
• Responding to comments where appropriate
• Avoiding harmful, misleading, or sensationalist language
5. Submit basic performance data, including reach, engagement, and impressions.

5. Deliverables
Each selected influencer will be required to deliver, at a minimum:
• 2–4 original posts per month over the agreed engagement period
• Participation in at least one live or interactive session (Q&A, discussion, or collaboration post)
• Monthly submission of simple analytics screenshots or reports
Failure to meet deliverables will result in termination of the contract.
6. Duration of Assignment
The assignment will run for up to 6 months, subject to performance reviews and funding availability.
7. Eligibility & Selection Criteria
Applicants must meet all of the following criteria:
• Have 30,000+ followers on at least one platform
• Demonstrate high engagement rates (not inflated or bought followers)
• Produce original, audience-focused content
• Be comfortable discussing maternal health, abortion, and women’s rights publicly
• Have no history of content promoting hate speech, medical misinformation, or misogyny
Preference will be given to influencers who:
• Have previously engaged with SRHR, gender, health, or social justice issues
• Speak to young women (18–35 years) in urban or peri-urban settings
• Communicate clearly in English, Shona, or Ndebele
8. Ethical & Safeguarding Considerations
Influencers must:
• Adhere strictly to campaign messaging guidelines
• Avoid sharing graphic, triggering, or identifiable survivor information
• Respect confidentiality and dignity at all times
• Refrain from expressing personal opinions that contradict the law or promote unsafe practices
