Impact Hub is looking for a dynamic experienced Driver to join our team. Candidates must meet the
requirements listed below and be able to adequately fulfill the job description.
Job Summary: Driver
Impact Hub Harare seeks a reliable, experienced Project Driver to support transportation logistics for
staff, partners, and project activities across project locations. The role ensures safe, timely, and
efficient transport services in compliance with organizational policies. At Impact Hub Harare, our
success depends on people, innovation, impact and adherence to procedures. This includes
ensuring proper maintenance of the assigned vehicle, adhering to Impact Hub Harare policies and
procedures and Zimbabwean traffic laws and ensuring safety for the organization’s staff, partners
and goods and other clerical duties as assigned. This position demands a highly motivated,
detail-oriented individual who will be able to solve challenges as they arise. S/he will be required to
be an active team player who will improve current systems from knowledge and experience gained
from previous work experience.
Duties and Responsibilities
Roles and Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Safely operate and maintain project vehicles for staff, partners, and goods.
Ensure timely transportation for project-related activities, meetings, and events.
Perform routine vehicle checks (oil, tyres, fuel, etc.) and report maintenance needs.
Adhere to traffic laws, safety protocols, and organizational policies.
Assist with logistics (e.g., deliveries, errands) as needed.
Maintain accurate records of trips, mileage, and fuel consumption in the vehicle log sheet to
the administrator.
Support administrative tasks (e.g., document distribution, minor office duties).
Keep note and timely report, in writing, to the administrator on the vehicle routine
maintenance/service.
Ensure that vehicle is used for the intended/assigned purpose in accordance with the prior
authorization given by the supervisor.
Ensure that the vehicle safety belt is functional and always used by self and the passengers
onboard.
Follow-up vehicle related issues with the police and insurance companies as per instruction.
Qualifications and Experience
The ideal candidate must meet the following requirements:
Minimum five years’ working experience in a similar role within the NGO sector.
Clean driving record and knowledge of Zimbabwean road networks.
Valid defensive driver’s license
Basic auto mechanic skills
Strong knowledge of locations of interest in Harare, Bulawayo, Masvingo, Manicaland and
Matabeleland North Province
Strong ability to communicate in English Language
Ability to communicate in both basic Shona and Ndebele is an added advantage
Strong Interpersonal skills
