1. JOB PURPOSE
1.1 We are seeking a dynamic and results-oriented Business Development Officer who will contribute
directly to the organisation’s growth by identifying opportunities, building relationships, and driving
sales within the AgriTech and related sectors.
1.2 The organisation specialises in drone-powered agricultural and data solutions that enhance
productivity, efficiency, and sustainability across the agricultural value chain.
1.3 The incumbent will play a pivotal role in shaping and communicating the organisation’s purpose,
championing our mission to digitise agriculture, expand market presence, and connect technology
with real-world impact. This role requires an individual who is both strategic and hands-on,
capable of translating cutting-edge drone technology into practical value for clients while driving
measurable growth.
2. JOB FUNCTION
2.1 Sales and Client Acquisition
2.1.1 Generate new business leads and manage sales of technology-based agricultural solutions such
as drone spraying, mapping, and crop monitoring.
2.1.2 Build and maintain a pipeline of clients, from smallholder farmers to agribusinesses and
cooperatives.
2.1.3 Conduct field visits, presentations, and demonstrations to convert prospects into clients.
2.1.4 Develop sales proposals, quotations, and Return On Investment models to support client
decision-making.
2.2 Client Relations and Engagement
2.2.1 Maintain close relationships with existing clients to ensure satisfaction and repeat business.
2.2.2 Liaise with key stakeholders including farmer groups, agri-input suppliers, and local authorities
to promote company services.
2.2.3 Represent the organisation at trade shows, field days, and business forums to build visibility and
credibility.
2.3 Product & Service Communication
2.3.1 Clearly communicate the benefits and applications of drone and AI-based agricultural solutions.
2.3.2 Gather client feedback and work with internal teams to improve products and services.
2.3.3 Assist in preparing marketing materials and digital content to support business development
initiatives.
2.4 Market Research and Growth Support
2.4.1 Conduct market assessments to identify emerging opportunities and potential clients.
2.4.2 Monitor competitor activities and industry trends to inform business strategy.
2.4.3 Support management in developing short-term growth plans and performance targets.
2.5 Customer Feedback and Service Improvement
2.5.1 Track and document client feedback to improve service delivery.
2.5.2 Collaborate with technical and operations teams to ensure quality and timely execution of
services.
3. REQUIREMENTS FOR THIS JOB:
3.1 A bachelor’s degree in Business Management, Marketing, Agribusiness, Economics, or a related
field.
3.2 At least 2 to 3 years’ experience in business development, sales, or marketing within any sector.
Experience in AgriTech, drone technology, or related technology-driven industries will be an
added advantage.
3.3 A postgraduate qualification or certification in Sales, Project Management, or Marketing will be an
added advantage.
3.4 Demonstrated ability to identify opportunities and build strong client relationships.
3.5 Strong negotiation and organisational abilities.
3.6 Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
3.7 Proficiency in Microsoft Office, MS PowerPoint, and familiarity with CRM tools and digital
marketing platforms.
3.8 Ability to work independently, meet targets, and adapt in a fast-paced environment.
3.9 A clean Class 4 driver’s licence.
