We are looking for highly qualified and competent candidates for the position of Accounting and Finance Specialist in the Finance Department on a 12-month contract. The incumbent will be responsible for ensuring accurate financial accounting. statutory compliance, and effective financial controls to support the organisation's petroleum trading operations. The role focuses on financial reporting, tax compliance, reconciliations, and supporting management decision-making in a multi-currency, highly regulated environment.
Key Job Functions:
• Perform daily financial operations, maintaining accurate accounting records and general ledger in line with IFRS and company policies.
• Draft monthly. quartery, and annual financial reports.
•Process and perform reconciliations of accounts payable, cost of sales, inventory, and operating expenses related to petroleum trading. projects. payroll and all other company activities.
• Prepare and submit statutory retums including PAYE, VAT. Withholding Tax, and Corporate Income Tax in compliance with ZIMRA requirements.
• Assist in budgeting, forecasting, and variance analyses.
• Ensure compliance with intemal financial controls, company policies, and procedures.
• Maintain proper documentation and filing of financial records.
• Liaise with suppliers, customers, banks, and regulatory authorities on finance-related matters.
• Provide accurate financial data and reports to management for decision-making and contribute to daily, month and period-end closing processes
Requirements of the Job:
• A bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• A professional accounting qualification such as ACCA, CIMA, CA or CIS is an added advantage.
• Highly computer literate with strong proficiency in Microsoft Dynamics Navision or Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business
Central ERP and MS EXCEL,
• A minimum of 5 years' experience in an accounting and/or finance role, preferably within the petroleum, trading. energy sector or parastatal environment.
• Sound knowledge of Zimbabwean tax legislation and statutory requirements.
• Strong understanding of IFRS.
• Experience working in a multi-currency environment.
• High level of integrity, accuracy, and attention to detail.
•Strong analytical, problem-solving skills, communication, and interpersonal skills.
