The National Gallery of Zimbabwe is seeking a highly organized and passionate Volunteer Projects Administrator to support the planning and execution of major cultural initiatives in 2026. This role is ideal for someone with exceptional administrative and communication skills, a deep appreciation for the arts, and a desire to contribute meaningfully to Zimbabwe’s global cultural presence.
The successful candidate will assist in coordinating Zimbabwe’s participation in the 61st Venice Biennale, organizing the CIMAM 58th Annual Conference—the first time this prestigious event will be held in Africa—and supporting gallery renovations across four key locations.
The person will be reporting to the Executive Director at Head Office.
1. Project Coordination
Act as a liaison between NGZ and stakeholders including artists, curators, contractors, and international partners
Assist in developing and maintaining project timelines, deliverables, and budgets
Monitor progress and ensure alignment with strategic goals
2. Event Administration
Support logistical planning for the CIMAM 58th Annual Conference, including:
Delegate registration and communication
Transportation coordination and hospitality arrangements
Venue preparation and scheduling
Assist in the planning and organization of Zimbabwe’s participation in the 61st Venice Biennale, including:
Coordinating travel and accommodation for participating artists and curators
Managing communications with Biennale organizers and international collaborators
Supporting the preparation and shipment of exhibition materials
Assisting with promotional activities and public engagement strategies
3. Renovation Support
Track renovation progress across NGZ locations in Harare, Bulawayo, Victoria Falls, and Tengenenge
Maintain organized documentation and communicate with renovation teams
Assist in scheduling site visits and reporting updates
4. Research & Communications
Conduct research to support curatorial and administrative teams for the Venice Biennale
Compile artist profiles, exhibition data, and international partner information
Draft and manage correspondence with global collaborators
5. General Administrative Support
Schedule meetings, manage calendars, and prepare agendas
Handle data entry, filing, and report generation
Maintain internal documentation and assist with day-to-day operations
