POSITION: TRAINEE FIREFIGHTERS (83 POSITIONS)
GRADE: 11
REPORTING TO: LEADING FIREFIGHTER
LOCATION: HARARE CENTRAL FIRE STATION
DEPARTMENT: CHAMBER SECRETARY
Applications are invited from suitably qualified persons for appointment to the above trainee positions.
JOB OBJECTIVE
Specialized training in firefighting and rescue operations.
Duties and Responsibilities
TRAINING FOCUS AREAS
• Firefighting training
• Specialized training in protection and rescuing of people, animals and property from fire and other dangers/disasters within and outside Harare
• Providing emergency medical care within scope of practice
• Checking and testing specialized fire-fighting and rescue equipment
• Proper usage of specialized fire-fighting and rescue equipment
Qualifications and Experience
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
• At least 5 G.C.E “O” Level subjects at Grade C or better which must include English Language, Mathematics and a Science subject.
• Be between the ages of 18 and 22 years on the last day of the advert
• Have no criminal record (vetting will be undertaken).
• Be physically and mentally fit.
• A minimum height of 170 cm
• Possession of a clean Class 2 Driver’s Licence will be an added advantage.
