Job Description

This is a Temporary relief assignment to work in our Youth and membership department for the Period from 1 February 2026 to 31 December 2026.

Duties and Responsibilities

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

1)Budget and budget monitoring
a) Develops budget for youth related work.
b) Supports the Membership and Growth Officer in developing the membership budget as well as tracking expenditure.

2)Fundraising
a) Supports all fundraising initiatives relating to youth and membership.

3)Strategy plan implementation
a) Develops the Youth Strategy for the section with the support of the Campaigns Coordinator and Membership and Growth Officer.
b) Plans and oversees the implementation of all youth initiatives ranging from youth activist training, dialogues, camps, Human Rights Friendly Schools.
c) Leads in the setting up of tertiary institution chapters.
d) Maps youth led organisations and forges strategic partnerships with the support of the campaigns coordinator.
e) Compiles reports for youth and membership work.
f) Works with the Membership and Growth Officer in planning and organizing induction and capacity building initiatives for members and activists.
g) Supports the mobilisation of members, activists, and supporters to participate in Organizations' campaigns.
h) Maintains membership and activists database.
i) Supports Membership and Growth Officer in communicating with members and activists.
j) Supports Membership and Growth Officer in ensuring that members are fully paid up.

Governance
a) Supports the Membership and Growth Officer and Executive Director in preparing members AGM.

Qualifications and Experience

Minimum hiring qualifications
Degree in the field of Social Sciences
• Communication skills (oral and writing)
• Knowledge on methodologies and strategies to keep young people engaged and interested in human rights issues.
• Basic Financial skills
• Work experience in civil society
• Interpersonal skills.
• Presentation/facilitation skills
