TECHNICIAN – LABORATORY
THE JOB
Reporting to the Senior Technician – Lab, supporting the laboratory activities within our mining operations.
Duties and Responsibilities
1. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
* Responsible for all other personnel in the department for efficient operation of all sections under supervision.
* Responsible for analyzing plant samples (solutions, solids and carbons), geology samples, preparation of calibration standards, preparation of lab reagents and use of certified reference materials.
* Responsible for maintaining the budget within required limits.
* Responsible for the QA/QC before reporting and for reporting results generated in the lab to respective departments.
* Responsible for all safety requirements in the Lab, proper PPE, proper housekeeping and reporting all incidents and near misses.
Qualifications and Experience
2. QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
* Diploma in Metallurgical Assaying or related qualification.
* 3–5 years’ experience in a mining environment.
* Strong leadership, planning and technical skills.
* Proficiency in MS Office Suite and Office Equipment.
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
