Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced and results-driven Supply Chain and Logistics Manager to oversee and optimize our supply chain operations in Harare. In this role, you will be responsible for managing end-to-end logistics processes, optimizing fleet and inventory operations, ensuring regulatory compliance with customs authorities (ZIMRA), and fostering strong vendor and client relationships.
Key Responsibilities
Supply Chain & Operations Management: Oversee daily end-to-end supply chain functions, including procurement, freight forwarding, warehousing, inventory management, and transport routing.
Logistics & Fleet Coordination: Manage local and cross-border transport schedules to ensure timely delivery of goods while minimizing transit delays and cost overruns.
Vendor & Stakeholder Management: Build and maintain strategic relationships with suppliers, carriers, clearing agents, and key service providers.
Compliance & Customs Clearance: Ensure full compliance with Zimbabwean international trade regulations, customs procedures (ZIMRA), import/export permits, and health/safety standards.
Inventory & Warehouse Control: Implement optimal inventory control mechanisms, minimize holding costs, and streamline warehouse packing, loading, and receiving workflows.
Cost Optimization & Process Improvement: Analyze supply chain metrics, negotiate supplier rates, identify operational bottlenecks, and implement cost-effective logistics solutions.
Team Leadership: Lead, mentor, and supervise the logistics team, dispatchers, and warehouse personnel to achieve operational KPIs.
Requirements & Qualifications
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, Purchasing & Supply, or a related field.
Experience: Minimum of 3–5 years of progressive experience in supply chain, logistics, or freight forwarding within Zimbabwe or the Southern African region.
Regulatory Knowledge: In-depth understanding of Zimbabwean customs regulations (ZIMRA), port operations, and regional freight corridors (e.g., Beira, Durban).
Technical Skills: Proficiency in logistics management software, ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle), and advanced MS Excel skills.
Key Competencies: Strong negotiation, problem-solving, analytical thinking, communication, and team management capabilities.
