The main purpose of this internship is to assist the Small and Medium Enterprises Development Corporation (SMEDCO) in handling loan applications and managing client accounts. The intern will act as a representative of SMEDCO, helping to ensure that lending facilities are successfully implemented for all clients.
The successful candidate will be responsible for several key tasks, including:
• Evaluating business projects, conducting credit checks, and assessing an applicant's financial situation to determine their eligibility for a loan.
• Visiting clients with active projects to evaluate their progress and offer solutions to any challenges they face.
• Performing market analysis to identify and reduce risks for both the client and the organization.
• Creating reports for funding approval and for small businesses to show them how they are benefiting from SMEDCO's financial assistance.
• Handling bookkeeping and accounting activities
• The ideal candidate should be currently pursuing a degree in a relevant field such as Finance, Economics, Business Studies, Accounting, or Entrepreneurship.
• Fluency in English, Ndebele, and Shona is also required.
