We are looking for an experienced Server & Network Administrator to manage, maintain and support our server, network and cloud infrastructure. The role will be responsible for ensuring the availability, performance, security and reliability of servers, networks, cloud environments, backups and related infrastructure.
The ideal candidate should have strong hands-on experience with Ubuntu/Linux, AWS cloud services, Proxmox, networking, server administration and backup solutions.
Duties and Responsibilities
• Administer and maintain physical and virtual servers and related infrastructure.
• Manage Ubuntu/Linux servers, including installation, configuration, updates, troubleshooting and maintenance.
• Deploy and manage virtual machines using Proxmox VE.
• Configure, monitor and troubleshoot networks, including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, routing, VPN, VLANs and firewall configurations.
• Manage and support AWS cloud infrastructure and services.
• Monitor server, network and system performance and resolve infrastructure-related issues.
• Implement and maintain server backup, recovery and disaster recovery processes.
• Perform regular backups and verify backup integrity and restoration procedures.
• Manage user access, permissions and authentication across infrastructure environments.
• Apply security patches, updates and server hardening measures.
• Troubleshoot hardware, operating system, network and connectivity issues.
• Maintain accurate infrastructure documentation, configurations and network diagrams.
• Assist with infrastructure deployments, migrations, upgrades and improvements.
• Monitor system availability and proactively identify performance, capacity and security issues.
• Provide technical support to internal teams on infrastructure-related matters.
Qualifications and Experience
• Degree, diploma or relevant professional qualification in Computer Science, Information Technology, Networking or a related field.
• Minimum 3 years of hands-on experience in server and network administration.
• Demonstrable experience managing Linux/Ubuntu servers in production environments.
• Practical experience with AWS cloud services and infrastructure.
• Hands-on experience with Proxmox VE and server virtualisation.
• Strong understanding of networking fundamentals, including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, routing, VPN, VLANs and firewalls configuration.
• Practical experience with server backup, recovery and disaster recovery solutions.
• Experience with server monitoring, troubleshooting and performance management.
• Understanding of information security and server hardening principles.
• Ability to diagnose and resolve infrastructure issues independently.
• Strong problem-solving, documentation and communication skills.
