LIBRARY DEPARTMENT
POST B: SENIOR LIBRARY ASSISTANT (2 POSTS)
Applications are invited from suitably qualified and experienced candidates for the Senior Library Assistant posts. The successful candidates will play a key role in the day-to-day delivery of efficient, customer-focused library services to staff, students, and the wider University community.
Duties and Responsibilities
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Overseeing all library transactions and operations at the circulation desk.
Charging and discharging library materials using the Koha Library Management System.
Assisting users in navigating and effectively utilising the Online Public Access Catalogue (OPAC).
Assisting patrons in locating and accessing materials from the Open Shelf and the Core Collections.
Participating in periodic stocktakes.
Providing support for collection development initiatives.
Supporting student orientation programmes and community engagement activities.
Performing circulation duties during the day, at weekends, and at night as required.

Qualifications and Experience
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
Applicants must possess the following minimum qualifications and experience:
A National Diploma in Library and Information Science.
At least five (5) Ordinary Level subjects, including English Language.
A minimum of two (2) years’ relevant work experience as a Library Assistant or better in an academic Library.
