RISK OFFICER

Job Description

We are seeking a detail-oriented and strategic Risk Officer to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for identifying, assessing, and mitigating risks that could impact ZCHPC's operations and financial performance.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain the organisational Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) framework.
• Conduct risk assessments for operations, cybersecurity, cloud services, HPC clusters, and business processes.
• Maintain and update the risk register, including risk scoring and mitigation plans.
• Coordinate business continuity planning, disaster recovery, and incident response.
• Monitor compliance with ISO 27001, ISO 22301, ISO 31000, and national regulations (including the Cyber and Data Protection Act).
• Perform vendor, supply-chain, and project risk assessments.
• Prepare risk reports for management and the Audit & Risk Committee.
• Support policy development for security, operations, and governance.
• Work with technical teams to identify vulnerabilities and emerging threats.
• Conduct staff awareness training on risk and governance.

Qualifications and Experience

Minimum Requirements:
• Degree in Information Security, Computer Science, ICT, Risk Management, or Information Systems.
• At least 2 years of experience in ICT risk management, audit, cybersecurity, or data centre operations.

Added Advantage:
Professional certifications such as:
• POTRAZ Data Protection Officer
• CRISC, CISA, CGEIT (Information Systems Auditing)
• ISO 27001 Lead Implementer/Auditor
• ISO 31000 Risk Management
• CDCP/CDCS (Data Centre Certification)

Experience with:
• Cloud platforms (Xen, VMware, KVM, OpenStack, Proxmox, Open Nebula)
• HPC cluster environments
• ISO compliance programmes
• Business continuity and disaster recovery
• Cybersecurity governance frameworks (COBIT, NIST)

Competencies
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Excellent report writing and communication skills.
• Understanding of data centre infrastructure (power, cooling, network, fire-fighting).
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Sound knowledge of risk management tools and methodologies.
• High ethical standards, integrity, and confidentiality.
