Applications are invited from candidates for the post of Registered Clinical Psychologist.

The Adult Rape Clinic (ARC) is a Registered Non-Governmental Organization that offers medical and psychosocial support care to survivors of sexual gender-based violence (SGBV). ARC is looking for a Registered Clinical Psychologist stationed in Harare. ARC’s employment policy respects gender and human rights and offers opportunities to all without discrimination.

Job Description
This position requires a highly motivated and mature individual. Reporting to the department supervisor, s/he will provide general counselling, and psychotherapy, facilitate support groups, and provide follow-up therapy to all sexual gender-based violence (SGBV) survivors. Follow up SGBV survivors and link them to medical services. Participate in content creation to raise awareness of mental health. Work closely with ARC Clinics to identify survivors who need psychotherapy sessions. Collaborate with the outreach team and support outreach-related activities.

 Perform psychological assessments and provide individual and group psychotherapy for survivors and their caregivers.
 Provide team consultation and psychoeducation to nurse counsellors and multi-sectoral stakeholders.
 Offer debriefing and de-stressing services to staff.
 Create demand for GBV mental health-related services.
 Networking with other organizations and establishing a strong referral pathway for psychotherapy care for SGBV survivors.
 Participate in outreach activities.

Qualifications and Experience

Qualifications
 Social Science degree: BSc Psychology
 A Master’s degree in the above disciplines is an added advantage.
 Valid practising and registration licence

Experience and Essential Skills

 Experience in providing psychotherapy and Somatic Psychotherapy.
 Experience in mentoring, coaching, facilitation, and training applying adult learning principles and practices.
 An in-depth understanding of mental health related legislation.
 Project management skills: the ability to plan, organize, work under pressure, respond to deadlines, prioritize competing deliverables, troubleshoot and solve project-related problems, manage project budget, and be flexible and productive while working independently.
 Significant organizational and administrative skills, supported by proficiency with ICT and good report-writing skills.
 Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including telephone manners, tact, diplomacy, and confidentiality.
 The ability to work in a demanding environment, meeting tight deadlines by prioritizing work as necessary.
 Ability to work as part of a team and demonstrate initiative.
 Demonstrated success in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with government, donors, and NGO stakeholders.
 A clean Class 4 Driver’s Licence.
