Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced and results-driven Project Manager to lead our Construction & Renovations Division. In this role, you will be responsible for planning, executing, and delivering high-end residential, commercial, and architectural renovation projects from initial concept through to final client handover.
You will work closely with clients, architects, quantity surveyors, sub-contractors, and our internal furniture and building materials teams to ensure all projects are completed on schedule, within budget, and to the highest standards of craftsmanship.
Key Responsibilities
1. Project Planning & Execution
Define project scope, deliverables, execution strategies, and resource requirements for all active construction and renovation sites.
Develop detailed project schedules, master timelines, and milestone targets using project management software.
Lead daily site operations, coordinating trade contractors, site foremen, carpenters, and specialized labor to ensure seamless workflow.
Ensure all construction activities comply with local Zimbabwean building codes, safety regulations, and architectural specifications.
2. Financial & Budget Management
Manage project budgets, tracking material, labor, and operational costs against approved estimates.
Work in coordination with the Quantity Surveyor to manage variations, valuations, and client billing schedules.
Optimize resource allocation to prevent cost overruns, material waste, and site delays.
3. Stakeholder Communication & Client Relations
Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, property developers, architects, and structural engineers.
Conduct regular site walk-throughs and provide clear, structured progress reports to executive management and clients.
Address and resolve site challenges, client change requests, and design adjustments proactively.
4. Quality Assurance & Cross-Divisional Alignment
Enforce rigorous quality control standards at every phase of construction, structural alteration, and interior finish.
Coordinate closely with Luneburg Living’s Manufacturing and Building Materials divisions to schedule timely material deliveries and custom furniture installations.
Oversee site handovers, snag list resolutions, and post-occupancy reviews to guarantee full client satisfaction.
Qualifications & Key Requirements
Education: Bachelor’s degree or Higher National Diploma in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Building Science, Architecture, or a related field. Professional project management certification (PMP or Prince2) is a strong advantage.
Experience: 5+ years of hands-on project management experience leading commercial and residential building construction or high-end renovation projects in Zimbabwe.
Technical Skills: Proficiency in MS Project, Primavera, AutoCAD, or similar project planning and design tools.
Knowledge: In-depth understanding of Zimbabwean building regulations, construction techniques, material standards, and site safety management.
Core Competencies: Strong leadership, site problem-solving, contract management, and excellent interpersonal skills.
