LEGAL OFFICERS (2 POSTS)

Reporting to: Director – Legal and Corporate Services
Purpose of the Positions
The Legal Officers will support the organisation by providing sound legal advice and ensuring compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and corporate governance standards. The roles require strong practical knowledge of Labour Law, Commercial Law, Contract Law, Civil Procedure, and Corporate Governance.
Key Responsibilities
• Provide legal advice and opinions to Management and Departments on labour, commercial, contractual, litigation, and governance matters.
• Represent the organisation in courts, tribunals, and other dispute resolution forums.
• Draft pleadings, affidavits, contracts, and legal correspondence.
• Manage and update civil litigation matters in accordance with civil procedure rules.
• Draft, review, and negotiate commercial contracts and agreements.
• Support the implementation and monitoring of legal compliance and corporate governance frameworks.
• Review organisational policies, manuals, and codes to ensure legal compliance.
• Conduct legal research and monitor amendments to legislation.
• Prepare departmental reports and attend stakeholder meetings as assigned.
• Perform any other related duties as assigned.
Minimum Requirements
Qualifications
• A recognised Bachelor of Laws (LLB) Degree or equivalent.
• Admission as a Legal Practitioner or eligibility for admission will be an added advantage.
Experience
• A minimum of 3–5 years’ post-qualification experience in a corporate, public sector, parastatal, or reputable law firm environment.
• Proven experience in civil litigation and application of civil procedure.
• Practical experience in labour law, contract drafting and negotiation, and commercial law.
• Exposure to corporate governance and compliance frameworks will be an added advantage.

• Sound knowledge of Zimbabwean labour and commercial laws.

• Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple matters under pressure.
