Job Description

We are seeking a motivated IT student who is currently pursuing their studies and is looking for an industrial attachment opportunity to gain practical workplace experience. The successful candidate will work under the supervision of the IT team and gain hands-on exposure to IT support, computer hardware and software, networking, troubleshooting, system maintenance, user support, and day-to-day IT operations.
Important: This position is specifically intended for students who are currently studying and require industrial attachment as part of their academic programme. Applicants who have already completed their studies and are seeking a permanent position are not the target candidates for this opportunity.

Duties and Responsibilities

Provide basic first-line assistance to users experiencing IT-related problems.
Assist with installation and configuration of computers, laptops, printers, and other IT equipment.
Assist with software installation, configuration, updates, and troubleshooting.
Support the IT team in diagnosing hardware, software, networking, and connectivity problems.
Assist with basic network troubleshooting and maintenance.
Help maintain computers, peripherals, and other IT equipment.
Assist with user account setup, configuration, and basic access management.
Support routine system maintenance, updates, backups, antivirus checks, and security activities under supervision.
Assist in monitoring internet connectivity and network performance.
Record and document IT support requests, faults, maintenance activities, and resolutions.
Assist with inventory and tracking of IT equipment and accessories.
Support the IT team during system installations, upgrades, and maintenance activities.
Assist with basic troubleshooting of communication and VoIP systems where applicable.
Learn and support the implementation and maintenance of business IT systems.
Provide professional and courteous assistance to staff experiencing technical difficulties.
Follow company IT policies, procedures, security requirements, and instructions from the IT supervisor.
Maintain confidentiality of company information, systems, passwords, and user data.
Participate in IT projects and other technical activities assigned by the supervisor.

Qualifications and Experience

inimum Requirements
Must be currently enrolled in an IT-related programme at a recognised college, university, polytechnic, or technical institution.
Must require industrial attachment/academic internship as part of the current programme of study.
Applicant should provide an official attachment letter/introduction letter from their institution, where applicable.
Basic knowledge of computer hardware and software.
Basic understanding of networking concepts is an advantage.
Basic computer literacy.
Good communication skills, both verbal and written.
Willingness to learn and take direction from experienced IT personnel.
Ability to work professionally with staff and customers.
Good problem-solving and analytical skills.
Must be disciplined, reliable, punctual, and professional.
