Irrigation Supervisor required
Duties and Responsibilities
Duties
➢ Setting up irrigation systems.
➢ Team Leadership: Manage and mentor field technicians or crew members, coordinate daily task assignments, and ensure adherence to workplace safety protocols.
➢ System Maintenance & Repair: Oversee the inspection, troubleshooting, and repair of hydraulic, electrical, and mechanical components, including pumps, valves, and timers.
➢ Water Management: Manage water delivery schedules by analyzing soil moisture levels, weather patterns, and plant growth stages to optimize distribution and prevent runoff.
➢ Resource Optimization: Audit irrigation systems for leaks and inefficiency, recommending and implementing water-conservation strategies.
➢ Inventory & Compliance: Maintain parts inventory, track water usage, and ensure all operations adhere to local water rights and environmental regulations
Qualifications and Experience
Requirements
➢ Experience / Diploma or certification in Irrigation Technology, Agriculture, or a related field is highly preferred
➢ Strong understanding of hydraulics, plumbing, and electrical systems, as well as the ability to program smart irrigation controllers
➢ Relevant technical qualification a plus
➢ Experience in use and maintenance of overhead, drip irrigation and / or centre pivot
➢ Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions, lift heavy equipment, and navigate varied terrain.
