The Investment Analyst - Business Development & Investment Management is a dual-mandate investment
professional responsible for driving growth in Assets Under Management (AUM) and revenue for the Firm, while also
delivering high-quality investment analysis and portfolio support. The role is primarily commercial in orientation,
and the successful candidate will originate and convert relationships with institutional and high-net-worth (HNW) clients into investment mandates, identify new business opportunities, and represent the Firm in the market. This is complemented by strong technical grounding in investment research, financial modelling, valuation, and portfolio monitoring, ensuring that business development activity is underpinned by sound investment judgement and analytical rigour.

The role sits at the intersection of wealth management, asset management, and corporate finance, and requires an individual who can move fluidly between client-facing origination work and the technical demands of investment analysis, due diligence, and transaction support. The Analyst is expected to act as a trusted investment adviser to clients and partners, not merely a sales resource, building durable relationships founded on credible, well- researched investment advice.

The role also serves as the central coordination anchor for Sales & Business Development (BD) execution, ensuring that opportunities progress in a disciplined manner from origination through engagement, proposal, negotiation and closure, and are then handed over completely and clearly to Operations for execution

Duties and Responsibilities

SALES & BD COORDINATION ANCHOR
Own the coordination discipline for Sales & Business Development from origination through closure, ensuring decisions, MoM,
actions, dependencies and deadlines are tracked and that every closed opportunity is handed over completely to Operations
for smooth execution.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
1. 2. BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT & CLIENT ACQUISITION (PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITY)
• Drive growth in Assets Under Management (AUM) by identifying, engaging, and converting institutional and
high-net-worth prospects into clients of the Firm.
• Originate new investment mandates, advisory assignments, and corporate finance engagements through
proactive networking, referrals, and market outreach.
• Build and maintain a robust pipeline of prospective clients, investors, and strategic partners across pension
funds, insurance companies, corporates, family offices, and individual investors.
• Develop and execute business development plans and client acquisition strategies in line with the Firm's
growth targets.
• Represent the Firm at industry events, investor forums, and client meetings to promote the Firm's
products, capabilities, and track record.
• Work closely with senior management to identify strategic growth opportunities, new market segments,
and product development needs.
• Support cross-selling of the Firm's wealth management, asset management, and corporate finance
services to existing and prospective clients.
SALES & BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT COORDINATION AND PROJECT MANAGEMENT
• Act as the central coordination point for Sales & BD activities from opportunity origination through closure
and formal handover to Operations.
• Maintain a current Sales & BD pipeline tracker showing opportunity stage, key contacts, next actions,
responsible owners, deadlines, dependencies and expected closure dates.

• Coordinate internal inputs required for prospect engagement, proposals, investment pitches, due
diligence, commercial negotiations and transaction documentation, ensuring agreed deliverables are
progressed on time.
• Coordinate regular pipeline and opportunity review meetings and maintain accurate minutes of meeting
(MoM), action registers and decision logs, with clear owners and due dates for each action.
• Follow up agreed actions to closure, identify bottlenecks or dependencies early, and escalate material
delays, commercial issues or decision requirements to the appropriate manager.
• Ensure that closed mandates and transactions are supported by a complete handover pack to Operations,
including agreed scope, commercial terms, client commitments, key documents, contacts, milestones, risks, outstanding actions and any conditions to be satisfied.
• Support an orderly transition after handover and remain available to resolve Sales & BD context or client
matters required for smooth operational execution.
3. INVESTMENT RESEARCH & ANALYSIS
• Conduct market research, macroeconomic analysis, and sector reviews to identify emerging investment
trends and opportunities.
• Perform investment analysis across asset classes, including money markets, equities, fixed income,
alternative investments, and private market opportunities.
• Prepare investment recommendations, research notes, investment memos, pitch books, and client
presentation materials.
• Monitor local and regional economic, political, and regulatory developments and assess their implications
for client portfolios and investment strategy.
• Maintain and continually enhance investment research databases, models, and market intelligence
resources.
4. PORTFOLIO MANAGEMENT SUPPORT
• Support portfolio management activities including day-to-day portfolio monitoring, rebalancing
recommendations, and performance analysis.
• Assist in liquidity management and cash-flow planning across managed portfolios and client mandates.
• Prepare periodic portfolio performance reports, attribution analysis, and benchmarking against relevant
indices and mandates.
• Support the implementation of investment strategies and asset allocation decisions in line with client
mandates and investment policy statements.
5. TRANSACTION SUPPORT & DEAL EXECUTION
• Support deal origination, structuring, and execution across advisory, capital raising, and investment
transactions.
• Prepare investment proposals, information memoranda, term sheets, and other transaction
documentation.
• Coordinate with legal, compliance, and external advisers during transaction execution to ensure timely
completion of deals.
6. CLIENT REPORTING & RELATIONSHIP MANAGEMENT
• Maintain and deepen relationships with clients, investors, counterparties, and strategic partners on an ongoing basis.
• Prepare and deliver clear, accurate, and timely client reports, portfolio updates, and market commentary.
• Act as a key point of contact for assigned clients, addressing queries and proactively communicating
relevant market developments and opportunities.
• Support fundraising initiatives and the preparation of marketing and investor relations materials, including
fund fact sheets, brochures, and investor presentations.

7. COMPLIANCE, GOVERNANCE & DATA INTEGRITY
• Ensure all investment recommendations, client engagements, and transactions comply with investment
mandates, internal policies, and applicable regulatory requirements, including relevant Securities and Exchange Commission of Zimbabwe and Reserve Bank of Zimbabwe requirements, where applicable.

• Maintain accurate, complete, and up-to-date client, investment, and transaction records in the Firm's systems.
• Escalate compliance, conduct, or conflict-of-interest concerns promptly to the relevant oversight functions.
• Support internal and external audit, risk, and compliance reviews as required.

Qualifications and Experience

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Investments, Economics, Accounting, Business Administration, Financial Engineering, Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related quantitative discipline.
• A minimum of 3-5 years' experience in investment analysis, wealth management, asset management, corporate finance, or a related area within the financial services sector.
• Demonstrated experience or a strong track record of interest in business development, client relationship management, or origination activity is highly desirable.

TECHNICAL SKILLS
• Strong financial modelling, valuation, and analytical skills, with proficiency in Excel and relevant financial
analysis tools.
• Solid understanding of investment products across money markets, equities, fixed income, alternative investments, and private markets.
• Working knowledge of portfolio management principles, performance measurement, and risk management concepts.
• Ability to prepare high-quality investment memos, pitch books, client presentations, and marketing materials.
• Familiarity with relevant regulatory and compliance frameworks governing investment and wealth management
activities in Zimbabwe.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
• Strong project management and Sales & BD coordination capability, including pipeline management,opportunity stage tracking, deadline control, stakeholder coordination, issue escalation and disciplined follow-through from origination to closure.
• Strong meeting governance and handover discipline, including preparation and maintenance of MoM, action trackers, decision logs and complete handover packs for transfer to Operation
