Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, the Human Resources Manager provides strategic and operational leadership for all people-management functions across the bank. As custodian of our human capital strategy, you will drive the attraction, development, retention, and engagement of a high-performing workforce, while ensuring full compliance with Zimbabwean labor legislation, banking regulations, and RBZ corporate governance standards.
• Developing and implementing the bank’s HR strategy in alignment with the corporate strategic plan and RBZ governance guidelines.
• Advising the Board HR & Remuneration Committee, CEO, and EXCO on workforce planning, organizational design, and people matters.
• Leading end-to-end talent acquisition, onboarding, and graduate trainee programs that build a pipeline of future leaders.
• Designing and maintaining a competitive, equitable total rewards framework and ensuring an accurate and compliant payroll.
• Driving the performance management and learning & development frameworks, including mandatory regulatory training (AML/CFT, data protection).
• Serving as principal liaison with the NEC and trade union, managing collective bargaining, disciplinary, and grievance processes in line with the Labor Act.
• Ensuring HR regulatory compliance, audit readiness, data protection, and a robust HR risk control environment.
• Driving HRIS optimization, HR analytics, and the digital transformation of HR operations.
• A Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources Management, Industrial Psychology, Social Sciences, Business Administration, or a related discipline. A Master’s degree or MBA is an added advantage.
• Full membership of the Institute of People Management of Zimbabwe (IPMZ) is mandatory; SHRM, CIPD, or equivalent certification is desirable.
• A minimum of 10 years’ progressive HR experience, including at least 5 years in a senior HR management role.
• Demonstrable experience in banking, financial services, or a similarly regulated sector is strongly preferred.
• Practical experience with NEC collective bargaining and Labor Court proceedings in Zimbabwe is essential.
• Deep knowledge of the Labor Act and RBZ fit-and-proper requirements.
• Strong commercial acumen, sound judgement, high emotional intelligence, and the highest standards of integrity and confidentiality.
