GROUP FINANCIAL ACCOUNTANT

ABOUT THE JOB
ZB Financial Holdings is looking for a results-driven and technically astute Group Financial Accountant to join our team. The Group Financial Accountant will oversee the integrity of Group financial data and reporting, ensuring accurate and timely financial statements in accordance with International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) and applicable regulatory requirements.
Duties and Responsibilities
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
As the Group Financial Accountant, you will be responsible for:
• Preparing monthly consolidated financial results, including analyzing and investigating variances and financial trends.
• Preparing quarterly, half yearly and annual consolidated financial statements and regulatory returns.
• Managing the General Ledger, including balance sheet accounts, suspense accounts, fixed asset registers and intercompany reconciliations.
• Managing tax compliance and reporting, including quarterly estimated tax payments and statutory tax filings.
• Providing financial analysis, insights and recommendations to support sound business and financial decision-making.
• Preparing budgets, forecasts and special financial reports, including variance analysis.
• Coordinating and managing the annual external audit across the Group, including timely resolution of technical review findings.
• Preparing weekly cash flow statements and monitoring expenditure and cash flow.
• Keeping abreast of changes in IFRS, financial regulations and accounting best practices and ensuring continued compliance by providing technical guidance to the subsidiaries.
Qualifications and Experience
WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR
The ideal candidate should have:
• A Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business or an equivalent qualification.
• A professional accounting qualification such as ACCA, CIMA, CIS or ICAZ is a must.
• A Master’s degree in Business Administration (MBA), Master in Business Leadership (MBL) or equivalent will be an added advantage.
• At least 3 years’ relevant experience, including a minimum of 1 year at managerial level.
• Strong technical accounting, financial analysis and commercial acumen.
• Excellent leadership, interpersonal, negotiation and relationship-management skills.
• Strong critical thinking and problem-solving abilities, with exceptional attention to detail.
• A process- and deadline-driven mindset, with the ability to work effectively under pressure.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
