Reporting to the Procurement Officer, the Procurement Clerk will be responsible for ensuring timeous acquisition of goods, services, and works in line with the Public Procurement and Disposal of Public Assets Act (Chapter 22:23) and Procurement Regulations Statutory Instrument 5 0f 2018
1. Procures goods and services cost effectively and efficiently in accordance with the Public Procurement and Disposal of Public Assets Act (Chapter 22:23) and Public Procurement and Disposal of Public Assets Regulations.
2. Preparing of monthly, quarterly and annual procurement returns to Procurement Regulatory Authority of Zimbabwe.
3. Negotiating payment terms to manage the organization's expenditure by reducing operational costs and having mutual benefits with suppliers.
4. Receiving internal purchase requisitions (IPR) forms from all departments and assist in coming up with specifications to ensure that the right goods are procured.
5. Adhering to the public procurement regulations and guidelines from the procurement regulatory authority of Zimbabwe (PRAZ)
6. Verifying invoices on receipt of goods and comparing them with purchase orders to ensure the correct goods are received.
7. Researching new supplies, markets and products and advise superiors.
8. Providing excellent customer service, ensuring professionalism, and maintaining good relations with suppliers.
9. Ensuring all adequate supporting documents are attached and available.
10. Sourcing quotations via EGP.
11. Preparation of comparative schedules and raising purchase orders
12. Sending purchase orders to suppliers and expediting on order delivery
13. Filing and any other duties as may be assigned
● Proven experience of at least 1 -2 years as a Procurement Practitioner with thorough knowledge of applicable Acts and Regulations in Public Procurement.
● Excellent analytical and negotiation skills.
● Knowledge of EGP use.
● Team player who is innovative.
● Honest and reliable.
● Degree in Supply Chain Management from a recognized Institution.
● Diploma in Chartered Institute of Procurement and Supply (CIPS) is an added advantage.
● Clean criminal record subject to further internal clearances and vetting
