Position Overview
We are seeking an analytical, strategic, and detail-oriented Finance Manager to lead our financial operations and steer fiscal strategy. Reporting directly to Executive Management, the Finance Manager will oversee accounting, financial planning and analysis (FP&A), cash flow management, customs duty accounting, and tax compliance. This role requires a strong understanding of logistics cost structures, multi-currency accounting, and local regulatory frameworks.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Strategy & Planning: Develop and manage annual budgets, financial forecasts, and long-term financial models to support strategic business expansion.
Financial Reporting & Analysis: Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements (IFRS compliant) and provide actionable insight into revenue trends, fleet profit margins, and operational costs.
Cash Flow & Treasury Management: Monitor daily cash flow, optimize working capital, manage foreign exchange risks, and oversee banking relationships and credit facilities.
Customs & Freight Accounting: Supervise freight billing, demurrage charges, customer credit terms, and reconcile ZIMRA prepayment/guarantees for customs duties and transit bonds.
Cost Accounting & Margin Control: Conduct cost-benefit analyses on fleet fuel consumption, vehicle maintenance, route profitability, and warehouse overheads.
Taxation & Compliance: Ensure full compliance with Zimbabwean tax laws (PAYE, VAT, Corporate Tax, Intermediated Money Transfer Tax), statutory obligations (NSSA, ZIMDEF), and internal auditing controls.
Team Leadership: Manage and mentor the finance and accounting team, establishing robust workflow procedures and internal performance metrics.
Requirements & Qualifications
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. Full professional qualification (ACCA, CIMA, CA(Z), or CPA) is mandatory.
Experience: Minimum of 5+ years of progressive financial management experience, ideally within the logistics, transport, freight forwarding, or manufacturing sectors in Zimbabwe.
Regulatory Expertise: Thorough knowledge of Zimbabwean tax legislation (ZIMRA), exchange control regulations, and IFRS standards.
Technical Skills: Advanced proficiency in financial ERP software (e.g., Pastel, QuickBooks, SAP, Oracle) and advanced MS Excel modeling skills.
