Organization: Development Aid from People to People (DAPP) in Zimbabwe

Job Summary: We are seeking 4 Field Officers who will be responsible for implementing project activities in 2 provinces; Mashonaland Central -Bindura and Shamva and Mashonaland East-Murehwa and Mudzi in Zimbabwe. The Field Officers will be responsible for the implementation of all activities planned in the 4 districts.

Duties and Responsibilities

 Responsible for the day-to-day implementation of the project in Mashonaland Central -Bindura and Shamva and Mashonaland East in Mudzi and Murehwa districts.
 Supporting the 2,400 People with disabilities to enjoy their human rights and freedoms as outlined in the African Disability Protocol (ADP) and the UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (UNCRPD) in the 4 districts.
 Work with the Organisations for People with Disabilities to understand the Zimbabwean context proposed on the project and ensure that it is appropriate to the Zimbabwe understanding and ensure that Organisations for People with Disabilities (OPD)s have improved organisational capacity and support functions to promote and influence fulfilment of rights of persons with disabilities, especially women and youths.
 Ensure that Persons with disabilities, especially women and youth have increased awareness and agency on rights and governance issues at all levels.
 Mobilise and register PWDs including women and youth with disabilities at ward level.
 Strengthen the involvement of youth and women with disabilities in Ward Development Committees, supporting Committees with leadership/coordination/advocacy skills.
 Sensitising youth and women with disabilities on the law and policy making processes by engaging with mainstream human rights organisations involved in policy benchmarking to guide the process.
 Supporting PWD’s inclusive of women and youth to fully participate in law/policy making and governance processes.
 Supporting OPDs to be part of a wider movement that share common goals of justice, human rights and democracy, and use the platform to hold decision-makers and duty-bearers accountable for disability inclusive public policy delivery.
 Conduct advocacy and campaign training on rights of persons with disabilities through DPOs and CSOs
 Conduct OPD led dialogues to improve community and leader level SGBV and peacebuilding related knowledge, attitudes and behaviours, changing harmful norms and beliefs that promote SGBV and conflict.
 Adhere to the design and implementation of DAPP strategy, ensuring proper project performance, delivery and viability
 Identifying safeguarding and other training needs for Project team members and stakeholders.

Qualifications and Experience

QUALIFICATION
 Diploma/Degree in Social sciences with at least 4 years of working with Community Development projects.
 At Least 4 years’ experience with the NGO environment

 Proficient in Microsoft Office programs
 Excellent written and verbal communication skills
 Demonstrated flexibility and adaptability to change
 Ability to work in a team environment and under pressure to meet deadlines
 Ability to work in remote and hard-to-reach areas
 Strong capacity to organise workload and meeting deadlines
