Position: Events Operations Manager
Department: Operations
Location: Harare
Reports To: Chief Executive Officer
🏢 Job Summary
The Events Operations Manager is responsible for overseeing the planning, coordination, and execution of all operational aspects of events at Elim Events Group. This includes tent pitching, equipment management, logistics coordination, maintenance, setup supervision, and ensuring all events are delivered efficiently, safely, and on time.
The role requires strong leadership, organizational skills, and the ability to manage teams under high-pressure event environments.

Duties and Responsibilities

🔑 Key Responsibilities
1️⃣ Event Operations & Execution
Oversee tent pitching, décor installations, and full event setup
Ensure all equipment is delivered, installed, and dismantled on time
Supervise event site preparation and breakdown
Ensure all setups meet company quality standards
2️⃣ Equipment & Asset Management
Manage event equipment inventory (tents, chairs, tables, décor items, catering equipment, etc.)
Ensure proper cleaning, maintenance, and storage of all equipment
Implement asset tracking systems
Report damages, losses, and maintenance needs
3️⃣ Logistics & Transport Coordination
Coordinate loading and offloading of equipment
Oversee transport schedules and routing
Ensure timely arrival at event venues
Monitor fuel usage and vehicle condition (if applicable)
4️⃣ Team Leadership & Supervision
Supervise setup crews and operational staff
Allocate duties and manage performance
Ensure staff discipline, punctuality, and productivity
Conduct on-site briefings before events
5️⃣ Time & Quality Management
Ensure all operational activities are completed within deadlines
Monitor adherence to event timelines
Troubleshoot operational challenges during events
Maintain high standards of safety and hygiene
6️⃣ Compliance & Safety
Ensure health and safety standards are followed
Conduct risk assessments for event setups
Ensure proper use of tools and equipment

Qualifications and Experience

Minimum Qualifications
Diploma or Degree in Operations Management, Logistics, Event Management, or related field (preferred)
Valid Driver’s Licence

Minimum 3–5 years experience in event operations or logistics management
Proven team management experience
Strong leadership and communication skills
Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
