Applications are invited from suitably qualified and experienced individuals to fill the above vacancy that has arisen in the Electrical department. The successful applicant will report to the Electrical and Instruments Manager.
• Install, maintain, and troubleshoot electrical components of irrigation systems including control panels, motor starters, VSDs, and field wiring.
• Perform electrical terminations and ensure safe, code-compliant installations.
• Monitor and maintain power supply to irrigation pumps, valves, and automation units.
• Install and calibrate sensors (e.g., flow meters, pressure transducers.
• Ensure accurate data transmission from field devices to the control system.
• Diagnose instrumentation issues and perform necessary repairs or replacements.
• Configure and maintain Netafim controllers such as NMC Pro, NMC Jr, and NetBeat™ for automated irrigation scheduling and fertigation control.
• Monitor and adjust automated irrigation programs to meet crop requirements.
• Assist with the integration of irrigation systems into SCADA, telemetry, or remote monitoring platforms.
• Conduct routine inspections and preventive maintenance of electrical and automation systems.
• Respond to system alarms and resolve faults in a timely manner to avoid irrigation delays.
• Maintain accurate records of maintenance, calibrations, and repairs.
• Follow all electrical and workplace safety protocols (e.g., lockout/tagout procedures).
• Ensure compliance with applicable codes and standards (e.g., NEC, IEC, NFPA 70E).
• Participate in toolbox talks, safety audits, and risk assessments.
• National Diploma, or equivalent in Electrical Engineering, Instrumentation, Automation, or Mechatronics.
• Trade qualification or artisan certification (preferred).
• 2–5 years in a technical role involving electrical and automation systems.
• Prior hands-on experience with Netafim irrigation systems is highly desirable.
• Agricultural or farm-based automation experience preferred.
• Solid understanding of electrical and control systems used in irrigation.
• Familiarity with Netafim products (controllers, valves, driplines, fertigation units).
• Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings and technical manuals.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Basic computer skills; experience with controller software or remote monitoring tools.
• Good communication skills and the ability to work independently or in a team.
