Job Description

About BOOST

BOOST (Building Opportunities On Sustainable Talent) is a registered Private Voluntary Organisation (PVO 88/26) dedicated to empowering adolescents and young people through innovation, entrepreneurship, employability, climate action and digital transformation. BOOST creates sustainable pathways from learning to earning by equipping young people with future-ready skills, strengthening innovation ecosystems and enabling access to enterprise opportunities, finance and markets.

Working collaboratively with Government, development partners, the private sector and communities, BOOST delivers high-impact programmes that contribute to inclusive economic growth, resilient communities and sustainable development.

About the Programme

The Mastercard Foundation–UNICEF Community Health Workforce Development Programme seeks to strengthen Zimbabwe's primary health care system while creating sustainable employment and entrepreneurship opportunities for young people, particularly young women.

The programme supports the deployment and capacity development of Young Community Health Workers (YCHWs) while strengthening community-based systems to improve maternal, newborn, child and adolescent health, nutrition and community resilience.

BOOST leads the Youth Economic Empowerment component of the programme, implementing the internationally recognised UPSHIFT Social Innovation and Entrepreneurship Methodology to equip Young Community Health Workers (18–35 years) with innovation, entrepreneurship and business development skills. Through this approach, YCHWs identify community health and nutrition challenges, co-create locally appropriate solutions and transform viable ideas into sustainable social enterprises.

The programme contributes directly to Zimbabwe's National Development Strategy 2 (NDS2) through:
- Human Capital Development
- Food and Nutrition Security
- Youth Empowerment and Employment
- Innovation and Enterprise Development
- Community Resilience
- Local Economic Development
