CeSHHAR Zimbabwe is an organisation that specialises in population health research and programming, including on sexual and reproductive health and HIV/AIDS. CeSHHAR has an extensive national, regional, and international academic and community partnership network. CeSHHAR has a diverse range of funders which include the Wellcome Trust, the Gates Foundation, UK Medical Research Council, Templeton World Charity Foundation, Global Fund for AIDS TB and Malaria, UNICEF and UNFPA. We partner very closely with the Liverpool School of Tropical Medicine (UK). CeSHHAR is implementing a National Key Population programme on behalf of National AIDS Council and Ministry of Health and Child Care in all 10 provinces in Zimbabwe.
The Digital Health and Public Engagement Officer will be responsible for leading and coordinating PACE’s digital health communications to ensure responsible, ethical, and inclusive practices. S/he will serve as the key communicator translating complex digital health concepts into clear messages for diverse audiences. The Digital Health and Public Engagement Officer will also be responsible for developing guidelines that promote fairness, transparency and accountability while driving community engagement through forums, workshops, and outreach initiatives to build trust and participation in digital health initiatives. Incumbent will be responsible for the following tasks:
• Lead and coordinate PACE II’s digital health communication and engagement strategy, ensuring responsible, ethical, and inclusive practices aligned with the project’s objectives and national KP program transition.
• Serve as the focal point for digital health communications, to translate research and implementation findings into clear, accessible messages.
• Develop and implement internal guidelines, digital content, and messaging that promote fairness, transparency, data protection, and accountability across all digital platforms and communication materials.
• Design and execute community and digital engagement initiatives—including self-care campaigns, social media content, forums, and roadshows—to strengthen trust and participation among key stakeholders.
• Manage digital assets and content calendars to enhance visibility, awareness, and engagement on PACE II websites and social media channels.
• Document lessons learned, success stories, and best practices to support adaptive programming around digital health programming
• Bachelor’s degree in computer sciences, Information Technology, Health Informatics, Public Health, Epidemiology or a related field. A master’s degree training in public health, digital health, health informatics is preferred.
• At least 3 years of professional experience in digital health, health information systems, or a related field.
• Experience in the NGO sector is an advantage.
• Proficiency in digital health platforms, Health solutions, data management software, and health information systems.
• Familiarity with data protection regulations.
• Skills in data visualization and analysis to inform programmatic decisions.
• Strong organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills; ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team.
• Strong communication, storytelling, and stakeholder engagement skills to translate complex concepts and facilitate inclusive dialogues.
• High ethical standards, cultural sensitivity, and integrity to promote responsible and inclusive digital health practices.
• Proficiency in digital communication tools, content development, and campaign management across online and offline platforms.
• Ability to design, implement, and monitor community engagement and digital health initiatives, using data and feedback to inform program adaptation.
