Implement culture activities, heritage awareness campaigns and arts programs.

Duties and Responsibilities

 Implement cultural activities, heritage awareness campaigns and arts programmes under the direction of the Principal Community Services, Parks and Education Officer.
 Coordinate community festivals, commemorations, and traditional events that foster social integration among residents.
 Identify, document and maintain records of cultural heritage assets, events, and community participation data within Council housing areas.
 Promote values of unhu/ubuntu, good neighbourliness, and responsible tenancy through cultural education initiatives.
 Mobilise and support local artists, youth, and women’s groups to participate in community development through cultural enterprise.
 Facilitate liaison with the National Arts Council, Ministry of Youth, Sport, Arts & Recreation, traditional leaders, and NGOs in support of cultural programmes in housing communities.
 Monitor and evaluate cultural programmes and prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual reports for the Principal Community Services, Parks and Education Officer.
 Assist with any other duties as assigned by the Principal Community Services, Parks and Education Officer.

Qualifications and Experience

• 5 ‘O’ Levels including Maths and English
• Higher National Diploma in Culture and Heritage Studies /equivalent
• 3 years’ experience in a similar environment
• Knowledge of the Urban Councils Act, National Cultural Policy of Zimbabwe, and local government procedures is an added advantage.

Key Competencies
 Strong community mobilization and event coordination skills.
 Good understanding of Zimbabwean cultural practices, languages, and heritage issues
 Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
 Ability to work with diverse groups
 Computer literacy: MS Office, email, and report writing.
