Plan and coordinate community health work programs

ROLE: Supervisor
DEPARTMENT: HEALTH
GRADE. 10
EXPERIENCE : 3-5 years
REPORTS TO: Matron Community
VACANCIES: 3 Positions

Duties and Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities

 Plan and coordinate community health work programs
 Conducts disease surveillance for the major childhood diseases i.e. Measles, Polio etc
 Assesses the quality of care being given by conducting patient interviews, reviewing patients’ records, questionnaires and suggestion boxes
 Monitors disease surveillance for early case detection and actioning
 Conduct health promotion activities (National Health events, Cancer days, Diabetic days etc.) through liaison with other interested departments and organization
 Attends and participates in multi-sectorial meetings and activities i.e. child welfare forum, home based care forum, civil protection
 Investigates suspected cases timely
 Performs any other duty that may be assigned from time to time

Qualifications and Experience

Qualifications & Requirements

 5 “O” levels including Maths and English
Diploma in Community Nursing
 Diploma in Registered General Nursing
 Any other post basic qualification will be an added advantage
 Valid practicing certificate
 A minimum of 3 years in a similar environment

 Ability to work effectively, both independently and within a team
 Ability to handle pressure and work with minimum supervision
