CLUSTER - BRANCH MANAGER

First Capital Bank Zimbabwe is looking for a highly experienced Cluster – Branch Manager to join the Retail Banking team, reporting directly to the Consumer Banking Director. The ideal candidate is accountable for driving superior Retail Banking performance across a cluster of branches through effective leadership, disciplined execution, and strong stakeholder management. They ensure strategic direction and oversight for all branch activities, delivering business growth, exceptional customer experience, operational excellence, and risk management objectives. They translate the Retail Banking strategy into actionable business plans, monitoring performance across the cluster, and implementing interventions that enhance productivity, profitability, and market competitiveness.
Duties and Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities
* In line with guidance from the Consumer Banking Director, execute the Retail Banking strategy within the Cluster.
* Drive growth in deposits, loans, transactional banking, bancassurance, digital banking adoption, and non-funded income.
* Achieve and exceed cluster sales targets and profitability objectives.
* Identify market opportunities and expand customer acquisition initiatives.
* Build strategic relationships with key customers, communities, and business stakeholders.
* Drive proactive business development activities across all branches.
* Monitor branch productivity and implement interventions to improve performance.
* Ensure successful implementation of product launches, campaigns, and promotional initiatives.
* Champion a customer-centric culture across all branches.
* Ensure branches consistently meet defined customer service standards.
* Drive customer retention and advocacy initiatives.
* Monitor branch customer service delivery and turnaround times.
* Maintain a strong risk and control environment across all branches.
* Ensure compliance with internal policies, regulatory requirements, AML/CFT guidelines, and operational procedures.
* Conduct regular branch reviews and control assessments.
* Ensure prompt resolution of audit findings and risk issues.
* Ensure efficient branch operations and adherence to operational standards.
* Drive productivity, process improvement, and operational efficiency initiatives.
* Manage branch operating costs within approved budgets.
* Monitor branch infrastructure, security, branding, and facilities.
* Build a performance-driven culture aligned to the Bank’s values and strategic priorities.
* Coach, mentor, and develop Branch Managers/Leaders and key talent.
* Drive employee engagement and foster a positive working environment.
* Conduct regular performance reviews and provide ongoing coaching and feedback.
Qualifications and Experience

* Bachelor’s Degree in Banking, Finance, Business Administration, Economics, Marketing, or related discipline.
* Master’s Degree in Business Administration (MBA) or equivalent will be an added advantage.
* Institute of Bankers qualification (IOBZ or equivalent).
* Professional certifications in Sales Management, Leadership, Risk Management, or Customer Experience are advantageous.
* Minimum 8–10 years banking experience.
* At least 5 years in a branch network leadership role.
* Proven track record in sales leadership, business development, people management, and operational risk management.
* Experience managing multi-site branch operations.
