Applications are invited from suitably qualified and experienced candidates with proper credentials to fill the following vacancies arisen within the Engineering Department at The Zimbabwe Bata Shoe Company, in Gweru.

1. CLASS 1 PLUMBER

Job Purpose
Directly reporting to the Engineering Foreman, the candidate will provide efficient installation, maintenance, and repair of plumbing, water reticulation, drainage, sanitation, and related services across the manufacturing plant, residential estate, retail outlets, and company properties, ensuring uninterrupted operations and compliance with safety standards.

Duties and Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities
• Install, maintain, and repair water supply, drainage, sewer, and sanitation systems,
• Carry out preventive and corrective maintenance on plumbing infrastructure,
• Diagnose and rectify plumbing faults and emergencies promptly,
• Maintain pumps, valves, water tanks, pipelines, and associated equipment,
• Assist in planning and implementing maintenance schedules,
• Coordinate plumbing activities across company facilities as required,
• Supervise and guide subordinate staff where applicable,
• Maintain accurate maintenance records and reports,
• Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and company standards,

Qualifications and Experience

Minimum Qualifications and Experience
• Class 1 plumbing apprenticeship trained,
• National Certificate in Plumbing,
• Two (2) years post apprenticeship experience in industrial, commercial, and residential plumbing maintenance,
• Demonstrated ability to work independently and achieve maintenance targets,
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
