CLASS 1 ELECTRICIAN
Samrec Vermiculite Zimbabwe (Pvt) Ltd invites applications from suitably qualified and experienced candidates to fill the position of Class 1 Electrician.
Position: Class 1 Electrician
Location: Shawa Mine (Buhera)
Duties and Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities:
* Carry out installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical systems and equipment across the mining operation.
* Diagnose and rectify electrical faults on fixed plant, mobile equipment, and associated electrical infrastructure.
* Perform preventative and scheduled maintenance to ensure maximum equipment availability and reliability.
* Install, test, and commission electrical equipment in accordance with company standards and statutory regulations.
* Read and interpret electrical drawings, wiring diagrams, and technical manuals.
* Conduct inspections of electrical equipment and recommend corrective actions to prevent failures.
* Ensure all maintenance work is completed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with electrical standards.
* Complete maintenance reports, job cards, and inspection records accurately and on time.
* Maintain electrical tools, testing equipment, and work areas in a clean and serviceable condition.
* Adhere to company health, safety, environmental, and quality management procedures.
* Respond promptly to electrical breakdowns and carry out any other duties assigned by management.
Qualifications and Experience
Minimum Requirements:
* Class 1 Electrician Trade Test Certificate.
* A minimum of five (5) years' relevant experience in a mining, industrial, or manufacturing environment.
* Sound knowledge of industrial electrical systems, motors, motor control circuits, switchgear, transformers, and electrical protection systems.
* Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings, schematics, and technical manuals.
* Good understanding of occupational health, safety, and environmental requirements.
* Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and as part of a team.
* Physically fit and capable of working in a demanding mining environment.
