Applications are invited from suitably qualified and experienced candidates with proper credentials to fill the following vacancies arisen within the Engineering Department at The Zimbabwe Bata Shoe Company, in Gweru.

CLASS 1 ELECTRICIAN

Job Purpose
Directly reporting to the Engineering Foreman, the candidate will ensure the reliable operation, maintenance, and continuous improvement of electrical installations, machinery, and power distribution systems across the manufacturing plant, residential estate, retail outlets, and other company properties.

Duties and Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities
• Carry out installation, maintenance, and repair of industrial electrical systems and equipment,
• Troubleshoot and resolve electrical faults to minimise production downtime,
• Execute preventive maintenance schedules and inspections,
• Maintain electrical distribution systems, motors, control panels, and associated equipment,
• Ensure compliance with electrical safety standards and statutory regulations,
• Participate in energy management and efficiency improvement initiatives,
• Coordinate electrical maintenance activities and provide technical guidance to team members,
• Prepare maintenance reports and records.

Qualifications and Experience

Minimum Qualifications and Experience
• Class 1 Electrical apprenticeship trained,
• National Certificate in Electrical Power,
• 2 years post apprenticeship experience in industrial, commercial, and residential electrical maintenance,
• Sound knowledge of electrical fault finding and industrial control systems,
• Knowledge and practical experience in motor rewinding and 11KV switching training will be an added advantage.
