Invarium Insurance is a lean-model specialist digital non-life insurer operating in Zimbabwe. We are recruiting a founding Claims Manager to establish and lead our claims function.
About the Role
The Claims Manager will be accountable for the end-to-end claims process, from first notification through to settlement, across motor, fire, engineering, personal accident, and life claims. The role involves designing efficient claims workflows, protecting the company's capital through sound reserving and recoveries, leading fraud detection and investigation, and ensuring full compliance with regulatory requirements.
The role combines office-based work in Harare with field travel
to accident scenes and assessment sites as required.
Duties and Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities
• Manage claims workflows and ensure turnaround targets are met
• Oversee case reserving, subrogation recoveries, and salvage processes
• Lead fraud detection, forensic investigations, and industry fraud reporting
• Manage complaints handling in line with treating Customers Fairly principles
Qualifications and Experience
Requirements
• Bachelor's degree in Insurance, Risk Management, Law, or a related field
• Professional qualification (IIZ, ACII, AlISA, or equivalent)
• Five to seven years of progressive short-term insurance experience, including two to three years at a senior claims or technical level
• Sound working knowledge of the Insurance Act and Motor Vehicles Insurance (Third Party Risks) Act
• Experience working within a Core Insurance System environment
• A valid Zimbabwean driver's licence
