To direct surveying operations, ensuring precision in mine design and contractor alignment.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Lead comprehensive surveying programs, integrating contractor inputs to refine mine layouts and volumetric calculations.
Oversee precision measurements for pit boundaries, stockpiles, and infrastructure, minimizing errors in the Great Dyke's complex topography.
Ensure compliance with Zimbabwe's Mines and Minerals Act and international standards like ISO 9001 for survey accuracy.
Mentor survey teams, fostering a culture of quality and safety in collaboration with contractors.
Analyse survey data to support transitions from open pit to underground mining, identifying geotechnical risks early.
Coordinate with technical services for real-time updates to mine plans and resource models.
Conduct audits and calibrations of survey equipment, raising corrective actions as needed.
Prepare detailed reports and visualizations for stakeholders, highlighting optimizations in PGM operations.
Requirements
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
BSc Degree in Surveying or equivalent.
Minimum of ten (10) years' experience in Zimbabwe mining surveying, with a focus on PGM projects involving open-pit and underground phases.
Proficiency in advanced survey software (e.g., Trimble, Leica) and GIS integration.
Valid professional registration with the Zimbabwe Institute of Engineers or equivalent.
Experience in contractor management and high-precision volumetric surveys.
