Job Summary
The Board of Directors is seeking a visionary, strategic, and results-oriented individual to
lead the institution as Chief Executive Officer (CEO). The CEO will be responsible for the
overall leadership, strategic direction, and performance of the organization, ensuring long- term sustainability and alignment with the institution's mission and values.
Duties and Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership:
• Develop and execute a clear, forward-looking credit strategy aligned with financial
inclusion and sustainable profitability.
• Lead strategic planning and guide the institution in achieving growth while
maintaining portfolio quality.
• Identify and capitalize on market opportunities for expansion and improved financial
service delivery.
Credit Management & Administration:
• Oversee development and implementation of credit policies and procedures to
ensure prudent lending practices.
• Drive quality credit growth through strong underwriting, product innovation, and
portfolio diversification.
• Monitor credit performance metrics and lead proactive responses to emerging credit
risks.
Risk and Compliance
• Ensure full compliance with Reserve Bank of Zimbabwe (RBZ) regulations, including
microfinance licensing, reporting, and capital adequacy requirements.
• Champion the implementation of robust credit risk frameworks and internal controls
to mitigate financial, reputational, and operational risks.
• Ensure the institution meets all statutory and regulatory compliance standards,
including AML/CFT.
Financial Stewardship
• Provide strategic oversight of the budgeting process, ensuring alignment with
institutional priorities and fiscal discipline.
• Drive cost efficiency and optimal resource allocation across departments.
• Report to the Board on financial health, budget performance, and strategic resource
deployment.
Operational Efficiency
• Lead continuous improvement of business processes, digital platforms, and service
delivery models to enhance institutional performance and client experience.
• Champion digital transformation and automation initiatives to streamline operations
and reduce costs.
People & Culture Management
• Build a high-performance culture through effective recruitment, coaching, and
performance management.
• Provide leadership and direction to senior management and promote staff
development and retention.
• Foster a work environment rooted in accountability, ethics, and teamwork.
Qualifications and Experience
Qualifications and Experience
• degree in Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or related field (MBA added
advantage).
• Minimum of 5 years of progressive leadership experience, ideally in microfinance,
banking, or financial services.
• Proven track record in strategic management, financial planning, and stakeholder
engagement.
• Deep understanding of microfinance operations, financial inclusion, and risk
management.
• Strong leadership, interpersonal, and communication skills.
• Experience with digital financial services and innovation is an added advantage.
