We are seeking a results-driven and experienced Business Unit Manager to lead and manage our motor workshop/dealership operations at our Dulys Gweru Branch. The successful candidate will be responsible for driving financial performance, operational efficiency, customer satisfaction, and compliance with company and regulatory standards.
This role requires a strong commercial mindset, excellent leadership skills, and proven experience within the motor industry.
Achieve monthly and annual business unit targets including revenue, profitability, workshop throughput, labour hours, and parts sales
Prepare, implement, and manage the annual business plan and budget
Control and monitor expenditure in line with approved budgets
Ensure effective credit control and management of the debtors book
Safeguard and manage all business unit assets, including stock, cash, and fixed assets
Oversee daily workshop and business unit operations to ensure efficiency and compliance
Ensure adherence to company policies, procedures, and internal controls
Maintain dealership standards and ensure compliance with audit requirements
Ensure full utilisation of the Dealer Management System for all transactions
Ensure quality control and minimise comebacks
Maintain excellent customer service standards and customer retention
Develop and maintain strong relationships with customers, suppliers, and stakeholders
Identify and exploit new business opportunities
Implement marketing and promotional initiatives to grow the business
Lead, supervise, and motivate staff to achieve business objectives
Conduct performance reviews and ensure timely completion of scorecards
Identify training and development needs and support staff growth
Foster a positive, engaged, and high-performing team culture
Champion health and safety standards within the business unit
Ensure compliance with all legal, licensing, and regulatory requirements
Degree or in Business Management, Automotive Management, or a related field
Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a managerial role within the motor industry
Strong financial management and budgeting experience
Proven leadership and people management skills
Sound knowledge of workshop operations, parts management, and dealership standards
