Duties and Responsibilities
Job role
1. Adheres to safety, health and environment rules and regulations
2. Interprets specifications, drawings, job orders and fabricates as required
3. Identifies safety risks and precautions required to eliminate those risks
4. Trains apprentices on job specific requirements
5. Repairs and replace plant structures, mill sump, chutes, pipes and any other material as required
6. Performs daily plant inspections / checks to ensure plant availability
7. Performs fabrication duties during mill relines and cone crusher relines.
8. Attends to plant breakdowns on daily basis
9. Ensures safe keeping and acquisition of boiler shop equipment i.e oxy – fuel equipment, welding machine etc
10. Welds plant structures and machinery to the required standard
11. Performs housekeeping at work site and workshop
12. Reports areas which needs attention to his superior for planning purposes
13. Participates in the planning of plant maintenance schedules to ensure continuous improvement
15. Works with team members to effectively and efficiently complete tasks
16. Performs any other duties as assigned by Supervisor.
Qualifications and Experience
Must have skills
Troubleshooting Problem solving Teamwork and collaboration good coaching and mentoring skills diagnostic skills workshop and plant safety
Good to have skills
basic understanding of hydraulics and pneumatics overview of mechanical and electrical disciplines
Qualifications
· 5 Ordinary Levels including Mathematics and English.
· Journeyman Class One (Apprentice Trained or Trade Tested) Boilermaker.
· Diploma/ Certificate Fabrication.
