The incumbent will assist the supervisor in overseeing cane haulage truck drivers throughout harvesting operations to ensure that the department meets its daily cane delivery targets.
• Assist in allocating trucks, establishing shifts and delegating duties to drivers.
• Ensuring that all trucks have proper legal paperwork and drivers have required documentation.
• Updating daily drivers’ shift schedules and driver turnover reports.
• Give a hand in compiling driver performance ratings taking into account accidents and incidents
• Reconciling fuel consumption against trips undertaken.
• Issuing necessary stationery and equipment to drivers and monitoring its condition.
• Performing any other duties assigned by the supervisor.
• At least a Diploma in Transport/Fleet Management/Logistics.
• A clean class 2 drivers’ license with a Defensive Driving Certificate
• At least two years’ experience in a similar position
• High computer literacy with good knowledge of Excel
