Job Description

The Accounting Intern will support the finance team with basic accounting tasks, compliance support, data capture, and field operations while gaining practical, hands-on accounting experience.

A valid driver’s licence is mandatory, as interns will assist with client visits, statutory office errands, and operational finance tasks.

This internship is practical and performance-driven, designed to develop real accountants with real-world exposure

Duties and Responsibilities

Accounting Support
Assist with data capture of invoices, receipts, and expenses
Support bank reconciliations and petty cash management
Assist in preparing basic schedules and summaries
Maintain proper filing, both physical and digital
Support month-end accounting activities

Tax and Compliance Support
Assist in preparation of VAT, PAYE, QPDs, and withholding tax schedules
Support follow-ups on tax clearances (ITF 263)
Accompany seniors to ZIMRA, NSSA, PRAZ, and local authority offices
Learn statutory compliance through physical exposure and practical involvement

Field and Operations Duties (Driver Role – Mandatory)
Drive to clients to collect accounting documents
Assist with delivery and collection of records
Attend banks and statutory offices
Support on-site accounting reviews and audits
Represent the firm professionally in the field

Systems and Learning
Capture transactions in accounting systems such as Odoo, Pastel, and QuickBooks
Learn system discipline, accuracy, and audit readiness
Assist with system checks and reviews
Develop practical ERP accounting skills
