VACANCY: ACCOUNTANT

Mutare Propshafts Centre, a leading engineering and machinery solutions company, is seeking to recruit a highly competent and experienced Accountant to join our growing team.Role Summary – Accountant

The Accountant will be responsible for overseeing the company's financial management and ensuring compliance with all statutory and tax obligations. The successful candidate will prepare final accounts, manage ZIMRA compliance, process QPDs and tax submissions, maintain accurate financial records, and provide timely financial reports to support business decision-making. The role requires strong expertise in Sage Accounting Software, financial controls, tax administration, and the development and maintenance of efficient accounting systems. The ideal candidate should possess at least five years of relevant experience and demonstrate high levels of integrity, accuracy, and professionalism.

Duties and Responsibilities

- Preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual Final Accounts
- Ensuring full ZIMRA Compliance and statutory submissions
- Preparation and submission of QPDs (Quarterly Payment Dates)
- Tax planning, filing, and administration
- Preparation of management accounts and financial reports
- Maintenance of sound accounting systems and internal controls
- Cash flow management and preparation of accurate financial statements
- Bank reconciliations and account reconciliations
- Maintaining efficient accounting records and systems
- Ensuring timely preparation of financial reports for management decision-making
- Utilizing Sage Accounting Software for all accounting functions

Qualifications and Experience

Requirements

- Degree in Accounting, Finance, or equivalent qualification
- Professional qualification such as ACCA, CIMA, CIS, or CA (added advantage) and required
- Minimum 5 years' proven experience in a similar position
- Thorough knowledge of Zimbabwean taxation laws and ZIMRA regulations
- Strong experience in preparing final accounts and tax returns
- Proficiency in Sage Accounting Software
- Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills
- Ability to work independently and meet strict deadlines
- High levels of integrity and attention to detail
